Bay Harbor is an unincorporated residential and retail development in Emmet County. The Harbor is in a sheltered bay on the south shore of Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan. The town center of Bay Harbor is called the Village at Bay Harbor and has boutiques and restaurants.
The Village is the center of the community, featuring a marina, and observation platform and walking trails. One mile of the shoreline and 70 acres of prime land were donated as public parks by Bay Harbor Company. There are over 1200 acres, 25 neighborhoods and five miles of Lake Michigan Waterfront. Bay Harbor is a four-season luxury resort community. Bay Harbor has 4 distinctive communities and 32 neighborhoods. There is Fairway Living which are on the championship golf courses. There is Harbor Living which offers a yachting lifestyle with boathouses to beautiful condominiums. There is Village Living which is an Aspen type of village with award-winning restaurants, boutique shopping and lots of entertainment. And then there is Woodland Living which is on acres of mature forest. The area offers unique and fun activities year round from water sports to cross country skiing.
