Elberta is a village in Benzie County which is across the harbor from the city of Frankfort in Crystal Lake Township. Until 1911 the city was originally called South Frankfort. Elbert is located on the south side of Lake Betsie which is formed by the Betsie River before flowing into Lake Michigan.
The population of Elberta is 443 people. The median home cost is $94,010. Elberta is a great place to live with its rugged beauty as well as great views. The drive to the shoreline from the ferry is definitely worth the effort in order to enjoy this picturesque location.
