Bellaire is a village which borders on the boundary between Forest Home Township on the west and Kearney Township on the east. The town has a very scenic main street, which draws tourists. The village was founded on a piece of property owned by Ambrose E. Palmer in 1879.
The town was originally named Keno, it was changed by Mr. Palmer in June of 1879. There are two large parks located within the village limits, Craven Park has several ball fields and a large campground, Richard Park has a pavilion and tennis courts with a nice swimming area and picnic tables.
